SIMON SAYS
22nd May '10
Two big events happened this week and they both began with ‘B’. Of course there was the ‘Budget’, which was pretty much what we expected. It’s a shame they just didn’t announce it months ago when they were drip feeding the media prior to the announcement on Thursday. Maybe their intention was to create uncertainty and stall people from spending? Raising the GST levels has its concerns however, as GST is a major cost when buying a new home. As I alluded to last week, you can still save thousands of dollars by investing in a property before 1st October. So, if you are considering a new home, there simply will not be a cheaper time to buy or build than today. Fortunately we have a number of homes either finished or nearing completion for new home buyers throughout Canterbury. You can view all of our open homes, investment properties, developments and the ‘Horncastle Turnkey Collection of Homes’ on our website: www.horncastle.co.nz The other big event which happened yesterday and one the office always looks forward to was Bill Horncastle’s birthday. He always puts on a pretty good morning tea shout!! Happy Birthday Bill from all your friends and staff. To everyone else enjoy your weekend; I look forward to talking to you next week.
